vision

“In 2024, the Ophthalmology Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Diponegoro University, will become a center for education, research, and community service based on research, especially in the fields of visual science and community ophthalmology.”

mision

  1. To provide a high-quality, superior, and competitive ophthalmology specialist education program at the national and/or international levels.
  2. To conduct research in ophthalmology that produces successful and effective publications, Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs), books, policies, and technologies in ophthalmology, by prioritizing excellence in visual science and community ophthalmology at both the national and/or international levels.

  3. To conduct community service in ophthalmology that produces successful and effective publications, Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs), books, policies, and technologies in ophthalmology to improve the health of the community by prioritizing local culture and resources.

  4. To organize ophthalmology specialist education that is efficient, accountable, transparent, and equitable.

  5. To foster a sense of responsibility, attitudes, and behavior based on Pancasila and uphold medical ethics.

  1. To produce outstanding ophthalmology graduates with communication skills, professionalism, leadership skills, entrepreneurial skills, critical thinking, and the ability to become agents of change.

  2. To produce ophthalmology graduates who can compete in the workforce at the national and/or international levels.

  3. To develop, implement, and produce innovative research in ophthalmology, particularly related to visual science and community ophthalmology, and to provide solutions to public eye health problems, address the ophthalmology industry, and contribute to the national interest, based on UNDIP’s characteristics and internationally recognized scientific publications.

  4. To implement research and community service findings in ophthalmology to improve public health and national progress, and to foster an entrepreneurial spirit and practice in ophthalmology, supported by an integrated information system.

  5. To develop professionalism, capability, and accountability in good study program governance, and to enhance the independence of study program implementation, serving as a role model for other ophthalmology study programs.

  6. To develop Pancasila-based student leadership and behavior, responsible leadership, and uphold medical ethics.

  1. Sending lecturers to participate in training programs within the country and according to their competencies.

     

  2. Providing opportunities for lecturers to be resource persons at national and international seminars.

     

  3. Increasing the number of lecturers, adjusted to their workload.

     

  4. Providing opportunities for lecturers to participate in doctoral and/or consulting programs on a rotating basis, according to their competencies.

     

  5. Providing opportunities and assistance to lecturers to publish.

     

  6. Increasing the number of teaching staff, adjusted to their workload and assisted by special administrative staff managing resident activities.

     

  7. Providing training for teaching staff according to their competencies.

     

  8. Increasing interest in becoming students in the Ophthalmology specialist program.

     

  9. Promoting outreach to general practitioners and the public about the pediatric health specialist program.

     

  10. Providing guidance to students to ensure timely graduation.

     

  11. Providing research mentoring to ensure timely completion of research.

     

  12. Providing advisor services.

     

  13. Conducting OSCE practice, discussing MCQ questions, and providing guidance with each division prior to the national exam.

     

  14. Disseminating value conversion information to teaching staff.

     

  15. Providing guidance, assistance, and opportunities for students to participate in national and international seminars.

     

  16. Providing opportunities, monitoring, and guidance for students in research.

     

  17. Establishing a community service team for the Ophthalmology Department in collaboration with various institutions.
